I have always dreamed of being a creative director and social media influencer, especially in filmmaking and developing ideas for different movies. I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a creative director in October 2012. However, I stopped in August 2015 because I struggled to find enough team members for my old YouTube channel, called “Deaf Channels Films in ASL.” Unfortunately, someone later removed my channel, which included many of the short and long films I had created, some as long as 30 minutes.

I have created titles such as “XS-D-MAN DEAF MOVIE,” “V.P Scary Scream & V.P Funny Story Deaf Movies,” “No Joke VP,” “Dr. Pepper & M&M,” “One Missed FaceTime,” and “Funny Joke.” These were just the beginning of my journey as a creative director. I am thankful for those moments when I first started pursuing my dream.

What is a Creative Director? A film director or creative director is a person who oversees the artistic and dramatic aspects of a film. Generally, a film director manages a film's overall vision, including directing the script, guiding the technical crew and actors, and ensuring that the creative direction aligns with the intended story and message. The director plays a crucial role in directing the cast, production, and overall creative aspects of filmmaking.

As a creative director, you can bring your ideas to life on a stage or through a vlog by sharing stories or creating funny, engaging videos. Just be yourself as an artist and share your creativity. People are often curious about the ideas in your mind and what you aspire to achieve as a person. It’s especially important to inspire children or adults by setting a positive example on social media as a good influencer.

Despite that setback, I found a new path. I became a vlogger on February 10, 2014, and I’m proud to say that I’ve been vlogging for nearly 11 years now—by next month, it will officially be 11 years! My first video received a lot of views, and people enjoyed my ASL storytelling. Through my journey, I’ve worked hard to improve and express myself in many ways on social media.

For anyone starting their creative journey, I encourage you to begin with your own stories or brainstorm your ideas. You might discover what inspires you most and who you want to become—whether it’s an artist, a creative director, or something else entirely.

Imagine if you were in my shoes. At just 14 years old, I started my own YouTube channel, creating my first vlogs. They weren’t perfect, and I made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I kept going. From starting small to gradually improving, I eventually reached a point of success. Eight years later, one of my videos hit 100,000 views. Also, I made it to 1,000 subscribers—a milestone I’m very proud of. Take your time and have patience—your hard work will pay off, whether in the future or even sooner than you expect.
